IT WAS MY SISTER
WHO DREW, COLORED AND SHADED THE ENTIRE GAARA, SO COMMENT ON HER PART TOO [link] With this pic and 241 participants
(THE LIST OF ALL PARTICIPANTS IS HERE [link] ), part 1 of the Make Gaara Happy Project is complete and it is with great pleasure that I call it a success! Because it is all thanks to the many people who have participated, I would give a big hug to you all in person, but since I only know a few of you in real life, have these many hugs!

It was the best working with you!
So, here is Gaara, surrounded by people who joined this on their free will and now give him love on his birthday ^^ The gift? Well, as suggested by *
Nick-Ian, it is gourd-shaped, but later on I thought about it and it is now a gourd-shaped cookie jar!

I took care of all avatars and put them there, but even though I did the first sketch and photoshopping of Gaara himself, it was my sister who redrew him and made him look this great! So, a big thank you to her, to the participants, to the participants who made suggestions and to the participants who helped to spread the word!

And, also, a big thank you to ~
CheeseXCrackers, because even though she wasn't a participant, she made the most helpful suggestions and the picture wouldn't look half as good without them

Thanks to you all!
If you'd like to further this project, I made a new account that will work as a club soon. It is here ~MakeGaaraHappyPrject and you can join it as you will! It will be the place that will host future stuff like this! Now, for the ones who only knew about this now, here's a bit of background:
A bit over three months ago, after dinner, I was sitting on a couch, sketching something just to pass the time, but I didn't have any idea of what to draw. Eventually, my mind drifted to Gaara and to his upcoming (even if distant) birthday and a thought popped up, a project that wouldn't "help me pass the time" just then, but for a long time: what if I made Gaara a birthday picture with a panel of ALL dA Gaara-likers as a background?
I immediately shared this thought with my sister (who was by my side at the moment) and she replied that it was a nice idea.
Well, the next day I wrote the journal you probably used to sign in and I began advertising the idea. To my great surprise, it was extremely well received and I felt right away that it would be a good thing.
It soon became more than a "wish-Gaara-a-happy-birthday" project. To me, the main purposes of this were, indeed, to do something that would have made Gaara happy (hence the name ^^) (and I hope I have done it!) and make a tribute to the wonderful and well-developped person he is (thanks to Masashi Kishimoto!), but it was also a chance to bring people together under the same shared interest and devotion, call forth the principles of the community that is dA and make all people that can relate to Gaara happy as well. It was a way to put my motto ("Kill loneliness, give love") in action, because Gaara was lonely and it was the understanding of love and its use in his life that helped him find happiness, and the same applies to everyone else in this world.
So, it was with great joy and excitement that I saw this idea being embraced by so many people, some of them I never dreamt I could have on board, and it was wonderful to meet such wonderful deviants in the process, with whom now I maintain good relations. That alone is the full success of the later objective.
And, today, you see the result of not only three months of hard work and patience but also three months filled with gladness and new bonds and friendships, a prize centered in the one that brought us together, Gaara
That is why I truly hope you're as happy as I am (and as I wish Gaara to be) when you see this, and that you think about the good things behind it as you see it.There's nothing more to say!
Have a wonderful day, Gaara and everyone!
